Texas Longboard Surf Club

History Of The Club

The Texas Long Board Surf Club (TLBSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to promoting surfing preserving its history and culture, and conserving the coastal environment.

The roots of the TLBSC began on May 5, 2015 when Kevin Greer and local beach personalities held a Longboard and horseshoe, the Cinco de Mayo Pro/Am, to raise money for cancer research in honor of his Brother Richard. After successfully growing the Cinco de Mayo event over the next three years to over 500 participants, Kevin also succumbed to cancer. Inspired by the Kevin, his vision and the California Surf Clubs the Texas Longboard Surf Club was born.

Under the guidance of The Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club and surfing legend Guy Takayama, we have structured our club and Surf Contests to Join the Collation of Surf Clubs. This enables our members to travel and participate in contests around the United States. In addition, member from any recognized club from California to New York can Travel to Texas to participate in our contests and enjoy the unparalleled access to the Texas Beaches.
